Lake Lurleen To Host Inaugural 'Santa In The Park' This Week

Lake Lurleen State Park has announced it will host its very first installment of "Santa in the Park" on Friday and Saturday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Lake Lurleen State Park has announced it will host its very first installment of "Santa in the Park" on Friday and Saturday this week from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The event will consist of a drive-through display of lights and decorations to kick off the holiday season, made possible by volunteer help from Friends of Lake Lurleen State Park, campers, and park staff.

Along with the displays, Visit Tuscaloosa will also provide hot chocolate and popcorn to attendees, who may also be able to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus himself!

“The park has always had a great Halloween event, so we thought why not do something similar for the holidays," said Tyler Barnes, spokesperson for Friends of Lake Lurleen State Park."The Friends of Lake Lurleen State Park Facebook Community were happy to help the park with their vision for this event, and we hope the community will come out and see Santa in the Park.”

Park admission fee is required to attend the event. The park is open between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.
