Lindsey Thompson Announced As Northside High's New Principal
NHS Assistant Principal Lindsey Thompson has been approved by the county school system as the new principal at Northside High

SAMANTHA, AL — Northside High School Assistant Principal Lindsey Thompson has been approved by the Tuscaloosa County School System as the school's new principal.

Thompson will take the place of Principal Tony Dunn, who retired at the end of the school year after serving as principal since 2018 and assistant principal prior to that.

A 2005 graduate of The University of Alabama, Thompson earned her bachelor's in collaborative special education.
Thompson began her career as a special education teacher at West Blocton Middle School in Bibb County and moved to Brookwood Elementary School in Tuscaloosa County Schools two years later to also work as a special education teacher.

She would go on to earn her masters degree from the University of West Alabama and become the school counselor at Brookwood Elementary, before being named the junior counselor at Tuscaloosa County High School in 2012.
Thompson spent six years at TCHS before being hired as assistant principal at Northside High School in 2018.
Thompson's accolades include:
- The Tommy Russell Award for the most outstanding student in special education from the Council for Exceptional Children
- Jacksonville State Teacher of the Year for Brookwood Elementary in 2008.
- The University of Alabama College of Education 2021 Top Alumni Under 40.
