Louisiana Man Killed In Commercial Vehicle Crash In Sumter County
Here's the latest after a commercial vehicle crash resulted in the death of a man from Slidell, Louisiana near York on Tuesday
YORK, AL — A Louisiana man was killed Tuesday morning in a crash in Sumter County involving two large commercial vehicles.

The crash occurred on Interstate 59, roughly four miles north of York, in Sumter County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Wednesday that the the collision occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. when a 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 37-year-old Webster J. Joseph, of Slidell, struck a 2018 International tractor- trailer driven by a 21-year-old Tuscaloosa resident.
ALEA reported that Joseph was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
