'Love Our Lakes Day' Cleanup Event Set For Saturday At Lake Tuscaloosa

The city will host "Love Our Lakes Day" Saturday, March 21, at Lake Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Water and the City of Tuscaloosa’s Environmental Services Department are gearing up to host "Love Our Lakes Day" Saturday, March 21, at Lake Tuscaloosa’s Rock Quarry Boat Landing.

The community cleanup event scheduled for 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is aimed at helping preserve the lake’s natural beauty and overall health.

Volunteers will be provided garbage bags and litter pick-up equipment by the city’s Environmental Services Department.

Organizers said the first 75 volunteers to arrive will receive a free T-shirt and lunch will be provided for all participants.

Residents with boats are encouraged to bring them to help crews reach harder-to-access areas of the lake.

Volunteers who do not have boats will be assigned to city boats.
