The student newspaper at the University of Alabama took a deep, exhaustive look into the Student Government Association redacting 93 mentions of "The Machine" — a secret society at UA made up of students within the Greek community — from this year’s write-in election results. Tuscaloosa City Council District 7 City Councilwoman Sonya McKinstry has requested a court to overturn the results of the March 2 municipal election that saw her lose a narrow race to Cassius Lanier. - Hotel Indigo will offer Karaoke on the Rooftop at its rooftop bar in downtown Tuscaloosa from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

- Alabama baseball will take on South Alabama at 6 p.m. at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

- Trivia night at Mellow Mushroom in Tuscaloosa, from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

- Tuesday promises to bring a busy evening as both a public forum on a proposed access road for the new Northport Intermediate School, will take place at the same time, in the same building as a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting that will include a renewed push for a controversial townhome property on Hunter Creek Road.

- DCH Health System reported a total of 28 coronavirus positive inpatients Monday, up slightly from 26 on March 1 after seeing fluctuations trending down over the past week.

- The following Northside High School students recently placed in the Alabama Visual Arts Achievement Program contest: James Spruill (Best of Group 2, Drawing); Sydnee Avery (1st Place, Painting); Olivia Roberts (1st Place, Mixed Media), Kimberley Montgomery (2nd Place, Mixed Media); Eden Henry (Honorable mention, Drawing).

- Gordo High School quarterback Tanner Bailey, a four-star prospect who helped lead the Green Wave to the 2020 4A state title game during his junior season, announced his commitment via social media on Monday to play football at Oregon.

- The Junior League of Tuscaloosa kicked off a five-day fundraising campaign Monday for its Adopt-a-School partner Holt Elementary. The initiative is focused on addressing the causing of illiteracy and its impact on the cycle of poverty. Check out more on the cause here.

- Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA) will host a soccer demo and introduction to local sports at the McDonald-Hughes Activity Center on March 10 at 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The center is located at 3101 Martin Luther Boulevard, Jr. Boulevard in Tuscaloosa.

- The Central High School Flying High Falcons Marching Band will host its 2021 Uniform Reveal performance at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the school's gymnasium.

- The Tuscaloosa Exchange Club recently honored its officers of the year from different area agencies, which included: Investigator Jessica Wilson (University of Alabama Police Department); Senior Trooper Larry Young (Alabama Law Enforcement Agency); Investigator Vanessa Parker (Northport Police Department); Lt. Darren Beams (Tuscaloosa Police Department); Deputy Jonathan Rice –Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

- Tuscaloosa County High School's Winterguard moved up a classification and placed third at the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit competition at Thompson High School over the weekend. The TCHS Winterguard will now set its focus toward the state competition on March 20.
