Man Charged With Murder Following Fatal Shooting At Camelot Apartments

A Tuscaloosa man has been arrested and charged with murder after an argument led to a man being shot and killed at Camelot Apartments Friday

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa man has been arrested and charged with murder after an argument led to a man being shot and killed at Camelot Apartments Friday night.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says the initial call came in at 10:30 p.m. Friday, with Tuscaloosa Police responding to 615 Black Bears Way on report of a shooting.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, said investigators found one male victim dead at the scene — Sherod Lanell Parris, 32.

Kennedy said after investigators interviewed witnesses and processed the crime scene, Charles Darron Richardson, 40, was determined to be a suspect.

Kennedy went on to say that Richardson had outstanding warrants for receiving stolen property.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department's Special Response Team and US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force assisted in the search for Richardson, who was located Saturday morning.

Richardson was charged with murder and certain persons prohibited from possessing a firearm, along with his previous outstanding charges.

Kennedy said Richardson was denied bond, pursuant to Aniah’s Law.
