Man Killed In Shooting At Tuscaloosa Apartment Complex

Police are investigating a second fatal shooting in less than 24 hours after a man was found dead at Legacy at Country Club Apartments.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a second fatal shooting in less than 24 hours after a man was found shot to death at Legacy at Country Club Apartments shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says officers arrived to find the deceased victim in an outdoor area of the complex, which is located at 1600 Mimosa Park Drive off Alabama Highway 69 South.

No arrests have been made in the case and the victim has not been publicly identified.

The department also said investigators are looking into the possibility of the fatal shooting being connected to an incident reported at 3:57 a.m. Sunday morning, when two residents reported that their apartment had been shot into.

Investigators reportedly recovered several shell casings were from the parking lot after rounds had entered two apartments.

TPD said witnesses in that case told officers they heard multiple gunshots before seeing a group of people run from the area.
