Mayor, Council Members Discuss Proposed Northport School System

NORTHPORT, AL — The city of Northport is taking the next steps toward its own proposed city school system, as the City Council approved changes for a feasibility study Monday night during its regular meeting.
The talks for a separate Northport school system have persisted for the better part of a decade as city officials have mulled pulling its schools from the Tuscaloosa County School System, with a feasibility study previously conducted in 2013.
