Historic Bama Theatre To Host Memorial Service For Bill Buchanan
A special memorial service will be held later this month at a historic venue in downtown Tuscaloosa to remember the life of Bill Buchanan.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa will host a memorial service honoring the life of longtime newspaperman and Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports employee Bill Buchanan, who died unexpectedly in late December.

The visitation will be held at the historic theatre on Saturday, Jan. 29, beginning at 1:30 p.m., with the service on the venue's stage beginning at 3 p.m.
A block of rooms with special rates has also been reserved at Hotel Indigo for out-of-town attendees, according to an announcement from Buchanan's wife, Ava.

For rooms at the hotel, visitors are asked to call (877) 846-3446 and ask for the Bill Buchanan Memorial room block at Hotel Indigo.
In lieu of flowers, Buchanan's family asks that contributions be made to the Tuscaloosa Civil Rights History & Reconciliation Foundation, The Rise Center at The University of Alabama, or the Paul and Susan Looney Legacy Endowment Fund for Theatre Tuscaloosa.
