Milroe's Big Night Lifts Tide Over LSU In Offensive Shootout

It was an offensive showcase for the ages as the No. 8 Crimson Tide topped No. 14 LSU 42-28 in Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — It was a raucous Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, to say the least, with the No. 8 Crimson Tide winning a high-scoring affair 42-28 over No. 14 LSU (6-3) in front of over 100,000 people in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Alabama (8-1, 6-0 SEC) pulled ahead for good after an intense first-half back-and-forth that saw both Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe and LSU's Jayden Daniels post more than 100 rushing yards each in the first half alone. This came on their way to a combined total of more than 300 yards on the ground in a quarterback duel for the ages.

Overall, the sophomore from Katy, Texas, went 15-for-23 through the air for 219 yards, while carrying the ball 20 times for 155 yards and four touchdowns.

Tide running backs Roydell Williams and Jase McClellan also both contributed rushing touchdowns in the victory.

And coming out of the half tied at 21, the two offenses traded blows before the Tigers finally blinked when cornerback Terrion Arnold snagged an interception to start the fourth quarter. Following the turnover, Alabama's defense held strong and did not allow LSU to reclaim the momentum or lead.

Saturday's game was the 88th meeting between the two teams, with Alabama extending its leading in the rivalry series to 56–27–5.

The Crimson Tide will be on the road next week as Alabama travels to Lexington to take on the Kentucky Wildcats. Kickoff for that game is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11.
