Mississippi Man Killed In Tractor-Trailer Crash In Sumter County
ALEA says a Mississippi man was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving overturned on a highway in Sumter County Thursday morning.
SUMTER COUNTY, AL — A Mississippi man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Alabama Highway 17 in Sumter County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the wreck occurred at approximately 7:07 a.m. and identified the victim as Cortez Steen, 26, of Grenada, Mississippi.

ALEA said the 1999 Freightliner tractor-trailer Steen was driving overturned. Steen, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said the crash occurred on Alabama Highway 17, approximately five miles north of Emelle.
