Moundville Police Investigating Fatal Shooting Friday

The Moundville Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on County Line Road Friday afternoon in Hale County.

MOUNDVILLE, AL — One person was killed in a shooting on County Line Road in Moundville Friday afternoon, Moundville Police confirmed to local media.

Moundville Police Chief Toby Banks said officers responded to a shooting call around 2:50 p.m. on County Line Road, where officers found a 47-year-old man who had been shot.

Banks said the victim was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

In the wake of the shooting, officers arrested Dillon Duncan, 25, charging him with murder. He was transported to the Hale County Jail, where his bond was set at $500,000.

Banks said Duncan was related to the victim, before saying the shooting likely resulted from a family dispute.

The identity of the victim has not been made public at this time.
