ALEA Public Information Officer and Senior Trooper Reginal King told local media that the collision occurred around 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

No word has been provided by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency as to potential victims, the number of vehicles involved or a timetable for reopening the southbound lanes.
