TUSCALOOSA, AL — A McCalla man was killed and a child was injured Saturday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said Monday morning that Jeffrey T. Hunter, 66, was fatally injured when the 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was driving struck a 2012 Honda Civic driven by a Florida resident.

The crash happened at approximately 2:51 p.m. Saturday on Eastern Valley Road near Foster Road, about three miles north of Woodstock.
Troopers said Hunter was thrown from the motorcycle and was then struck by a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a McCalla resident.

Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene.
ALEA also said an eight-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
