YORK, AL — A multi-vehicle crash Monday morning has caused a closure on the southbound lanes of Interstate 59 in Sumter County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the crash occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Interstate 59 before Exit 17 in York

ALEA says the southbound lanes are currently blocked and are expected to remain closed for an undetermined amount of time while troopers investigate the crash and monitor traffic conditions.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are on scene and said additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
