National Night Out Set For Aug. 2 In Snow Hinton Park

Tuscaloosa-area law enforcement agencies are set to host a night of family-friendly fun with National Night Out on Aug. 2.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa-area law enforcement agencies are set to host a night of family-friendly fun for those in the community with the 2022 installment of National Night Out.

The annual event, which is geared toward strengthening bonds between police and the community they serve, will be held at Snow Hinton Park on Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Attendees can expected to see the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office's new ambulance, its BearCat MedEvac and drone unit, while the Tuscaloosa Police Department will feature hands-on equipment displays, K9 demonstrations and more.

National Night Out made its debut in 1984 and has since grown into a nationwide celebration of community policing efforts. According to the official organization, National Night Out is observed in more than 16,000 communities across the country each year.
