Transfer Grant Nelson Shines In Crimson Tide Debut As No. 24 Alabama Tops Morehead State
It was easy sledding for the No. 24 Crimson Tide as it opened the 2023-24 season with a win over Morehead State Monday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The No. 24 Alabama Crimson Tide made easy work of visiting Morehead State, 105-73, Monday night to open the 2023-24 men's college basketball season inside the friendly confines of Coleman Coliseum.

Tide transfer senior Grant Nelson led the way on offense in his Crimson Tide debut, exploding for 24 points, along with grabbing seven defensive rebounds.

Three other players for the Tide finished in double-digits for scoring on the night: Graduate transfer guard Aaron Estrada (16), senior guard Mark Sears (13), and freshman forward Jarin Stevenson (12).
During the opener, the Crimson Tide went 32-for-57 from the field, while also going 10-for-23 from three-point range.

The Crimson Tide (1-0) will return to action on Friday as Coleman Coliseum hosts Indiana State, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
