Northport City Council President Jeff Hogg on Monday announced that Hang 10 Car Wash will soon set up shop at the corner of Highway 43 and McFarland Boulevard. The property is currently occupied by an abandoned gas station with an adjoining car wash.

"Not every business that comes to our city is specifically recruited by our Retail Committee," Hogg said on social media Monday. "However, some see the potential in our city and come without being asked. I think that says a lot about the environment of being business-friendly and feeling like their specific business could be beneficial for our residents."

Hogg said Hang 10 Car Wash hopes to revitalize the property, which has become an eyesore at arguably the busiest intersection in the city.

No timetable has been given as to when the new car wash will be open.

With locations in numerous states, Hang 10 also plans to operate in Foley, Mobile and Montgomery.
