Company officials said the project is aimed at restoring a neighborhood grocery destination while expanding fresh food and full-service offerings for customers in the area.
B&W Foods also said the Five Points location will include the first full-service bakery, deli and floral departments at a Tuscaloosa-area Piggly Wiggly.

Additionally, the store will feature a specialty meat case with custom and specialty cuts prepared by in-house butchers.
“This project is about more than opening another store,” B&W Foods co-owner Jay Welborn said. “Five Points has been an important part of this community for a long time, and we feel a real responsibility to bring it back the right way.”
Welborn said the family-owned company remains focused on investing locally while providing customers with fresh food and dependable service.
“Our stores have always been about more than just groceries,” Welborn said. “They’re about relationships. We’re proud to continue that tradition in Five Points and grateful for the support that has allowed us to grow while staying true to who we are.”
B&W Foods has operated Piggly Wiggly stores across West Alabama for more than 25 years.
Additional details regarding construction and the store’s opening timeline are expected to be announced in the coming months.
