3. Drew Taylor reports a lineman for Black Warrior Electric Membership Corporation died Monday morning following a fall in the Mount Herman community near Greensboro in Hale County. The lineman reportedly climbed up a pole when it broke, causing him to fall. (CBS 42)

4. Tuscaloosa County has been placed at a marginal risk for severe storms Wednesday, which could bring winds up to 60 mph and quarter size hail between noon and 9 p.m.

5. Javon Williams reports that more than 5,000 students are expected to participate in spring commencement at the University of Alabama, with some expressing concerns over safety protocols, such as rules in place liming the number of guests per graduate and other social distancing guidelines. - Tuscaloosa County EMA announced its has rescheduled the Alberta area's coronavirus vaccination registration pop-up site for Monday, April 5 and Tuesday, April 6 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. after it was postponed due to severe weather.

- The Northport Police Department on Monday announced the passing of longtime officer Joe Huffman, who was the department's oldest retiree and served as an officer for over 25 years.

- Voters in Bibb, Chilton and Shelby counties will take to the polls today in the special election for Senate District 14 after the seat was left vacant following the appointment of Cam Ward as director of the Alabama Bureau of Pardons & Parole. The nonpartisan ballot will feature Joseph Barlow, Donna Strong and April Weaver.

- Kentuck's April Art Night will be held Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., featuring "Folkstream by Coker" by Jerry Coker in the Museum Gallery and live music from Soapy Jones and the Surprise Inside.

- Shelton State Community College will begin summer and fall registration on Friday, April 9 with registration initially staggered according to student status.

- Shelton State's baseball team swept a doubleheader from Calhoun County on Monday, 11-5 and 9-1, while the Lady Bucs softball team also won its first of two against the Warhawks 7-4.

- In collegiate track & field action, Stillman College's Willie Washington won the shot put at the Birmingham-Southern Hilltop Birdwell Classic over the weekend. Kamryn Harris also scored twice with personal records, placing fifth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.43 and finished eighth in the 200-meter with a time of 26.99.

- The Demopolis Tigers baseball team trounced the Central High Falcons on Monday 12-0, with Jaylon Singleton knocking across the only hit for Central on the afternoon.
