New York Man Killed Wednesday In Crash On Interstate 59

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A New York man has been identified as the victim in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 59 Wednesday.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Troop G Public Affairs Officer Justin O'Neal said Sergey Shuvalov, 45, of Rochester, New York, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter he was driving collided with the rear of a 2019 Kenworth commercial vehicle.

O'Neal said the crash occurred just after noon on Wednesday, approximately two miles south of Tuscaloosa and its cause remains under investigation.
