No. 7 Alabama Blows Out Kentucky To Remain Unbeaten In SEC Play

No. 7 Alabama men's basketball (13-2, 3-0 SEC) made easy work out of Kentucky Saturday in Coleman Coliseum with a 78-52 win.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — No. 7 Alabama men's basketball (13-2, 3-0 SEC) made easy work out of Kentucky Saturday, 78-52, in front of 15,000 fans at Coleman Coliseum, commanding the floor the entire game and making life difficult for a team picked by many in the preseason to finish first in the Southeastern Conference.

Freshman forward Brandon Miller was slow out of the gate for the early tip-off, but got in a rhythm that was impossible for the Wildcats (10-5, 1-2 SEC) to slow down as he led all scorers with 19 points on the day. Miller also grabbed 7 rebounds.

The Tide also kept 2022 Naismith College Player of the Year Oscar Tshiebwe in check for most of the game, holding the star rebounder to a meagre 4 points and 6 rebounds.

The Crimson Tide went into the locker room at the half up 35-24 and would not allow Kentucky to scratch out a lead on its way to the win.

Along with Miller's expectedly stellar performance, Mark Sears also posted 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while Charles Bediako added 9 points and 6 boards in the winning effort.

Alabama will take to the road for its next context, traveling to Fayetteville on Wednesday to take on Arkansas (12-2, 1-1 SEC). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN 2.
