No Injuries In BBQ Pit Fire At Big Al's In Samantha

There were no injuries in a Tuesday BBQ pit fire at a popular restaurant in Samantha near the Fayette County line.

SAMANTHA, AL — Volunteer firefighters quickly controlled a BBQ pit fire at Big Al's Restaurant on Highway 43 in northern Tuscaloosa County Tuesday.

The restaurant said there were no injuries as a result of fire and thanked the actions of Wesley Simmons, along with the response from the Samantha Volunteer Fire Department and Carroll's Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

No damage was done the restaurant's main building.

While the popular county line restaurant says it is unsure about potential damage to its smoker, Big Al's plans to open at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday — its usual time.
