Nominations Open For Northport Citizen Of The Year Awards

Nominations will be accepted online and at Northport 5 & 10 through Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m.

NORTHPORT, AL — Nominations have officially opened for the 45th annual Northport Citizen of the Year awards, set for Oct. 6 at the Northport Civic Center.

The annual awards are returning after a two-year hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Ellen Woodward Potts, executive director of Habitat for Humanity - Tuscaloosa, will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.

  • Historian/Pioneer
  • Public Safety Leader
  • Religious Leader

Northport Citizen of the Year, Inc. — the nonprofit in charge of the annual ceremony — says nomination forms are available online or at Northport 5 & 10 on Main Avenue.

Nominations will be accepted through Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m.

Corporate tables for the event are available for $225 and $30 for individual tickets. Tickets will be available for purchase online or at Northport 5 & 10.
