Norman Crow Elected TCEDA Board Chair

TUSCALOOSA, AL — DT Freight President and Tuscaloosa City Councilman Norman Crow has been elected chair of the board for The Tuscaloosa County Economic Development Authority (TCEDA) for 2022.

Crow takes the place of Mark S. Crews, Sr., western division vice president of Alabama Power Company, whose term expires at the end of 2021.

“I appreciate the opportunity given to me by this board to contribute to Tuscaloosa County’s positive economic growth,” Crow said. “We are focused on being a leader in developing our community’s resources to create new jobs for our citizens, and we will do so through the support of our partners, our volunteers and our local elected officials.”

Crow went on to mention how Tuscaloosa County represents an automotive hub, with an international appeal, and a hometown feel.

“We will continue to build on our past achievements, while creating new opportunities throughout our community during the coming year," he said. "We will be successful by everyone working together."

Steven S. Rumsey, owner of Rumsey Properties, LLC, will serve as vice chair, while Tim
Parker, III, president of Parker Towing Company Inc., will serve as treasurer.

TCEDA Executive Director Danielle Winningham was re‐elected as secretary, and Michael D. Smith, a partner with Smith and Staggs, LLP and Authority legal counsel, was re‐elected as assistant secretary.
