Northport Announces New Downtown Banner Program Recognizing Local Military Veterans

The City of Northport has announced the launch of its new Hometown Heroes Banner Initiative.

NORTHPORT, AL — The City of Northport has announced the launch of its new Hometown Heroes Banner Initiative, which will recognize local military service members with commemorative banners displayed in downtown.

City officials said the initiative is intended to honor the men and women of Northport who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces while recognizing their courage, dedication and sacrifice.

As part of the program, banners featuring Northport's Hometown Heroes will be displayed throughout the downtown area in observance of Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

The city said the initiative also coincides with the nation's 250th anniversary, providing an opportunity to recognize the contributions of local veterans as America marks the historic milestone.
