As Patch previously reported, the new 32-foot by 25-foot video board will aim to improve the game day experience for the TCHS community and sponsorships are currently available for those interested in helping fund new amenities.

In a photo shared by Brandy Shaw of the Wildcat Quarterback Club, Premier Service Company has already started to dig the holes for the jumbotron's support beams.

Wiggins told Patch he did not support spending taxpayer money on the new amenity for the stadium and lamented that the money would not be spent on any other sport or academic program at the school.

"I just don't think it's in the taxpayers' interest," he said.

Tuscaloosa County High will open the 2023 season on Aug. 25 on the road against Central, with the Wildcats' first home game set for Sept. 1 against Bessemer City.
