Northport Black Warrior River Bass Classic Kicks Off Tuesday
Visit Tuscaloosa and the City of Northport this week announced the inaugural Hooked on Northport Black Warrior River Bass Classic.

NORTHPORT, AL — Visit Tuscaloosa and the City of Northport this week announced the inaugural Hooked on Northport Black Warrior River Bass Classic online fishing tournament.

The tournament aims to promoting fishing opportunities available along the river and will be open to anglers beginning Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The free online fishing tournament will run through Dec. 15
“The City of Northport is excited to launch this new fishing tournament in our community,” Northport City Administrator Glenda Webb said. “As a bass fishing tournament, the Hooked on Northport Black Warrior River Bass Classic will highlight our convenient location on the Black Warrior River and will provide a new and fun opportunity for both residents and visitors to enjoy being outdoors."

The catch-photo tournament will be facilitated by Fishing Chaos and will feature an open and high school division.
There will be over $3,000 in guaranteed prize money.
Anglers are asked to submit photos of their five longest black bass, which consists of Largemouth, Spotted, Bartram’s, Mean Mouth, Guadalupe, Shoal, and Smallmouth bass.
Open Division prizes:
- 1st Place: $500
- 2nd Place: $300
- 3rd Place: $200
- 4th Place: $150 prize package
- 5th Place: $75 prize package
- Overall Big Bass: $500
High School Division (13 – 18 years old):
- 1st Place: $500 product package
- 2nd Place: $250 product package
- 3rd Place: $125 product package
- 4th Place: $75 product package
- 5th Place: $50 product package
- Overall Big Bass: $500 product package Tournament registration must be completed through the Fishing Chaos App.
Photos can be submitted on the Fishing Chaos mobile app beginning at 12 a.m. on Nov. 1 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 5.
All catch entries will be reviewed and approved by a third-party tournament management company and all competitors must have a valid Alabama fishing license.
