Northport Citizen Of The Year Subcategory Winners Revealed Ahead Of Thursday's Luncheon

Ahead of the 45th annual awards luncheon on Thursday, the winners of the five subcategories have been announced.

NORTHPORT, AL — Ahead of the 45th annual Northport Citizen of the Year awards luncheon on Thursday, the winners of the five subcategories have been announced.

The recipient of the top honor will be revealed during the awards ceremony at Northport City Hall & Civic Center on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 11:30 a.m.

This will be the first time the event has been held since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which saw the 45th installment of the awards postponed due to public health concerns.

Here's a look at the 2022 honorees

  • Business Leader of the Year - Pastor Garcia of Pastor's Kitchen
  • Public Safety Leader - Jerry Pruitt of Northport Fire Rescue
  • Religious Leader of the Year - Ronnie Lett of St. Mark United Methodist Church
  • Educator of the Year - Dana Dunn of Tuscaloosa County High School
  • Heritage/Pioneer Award - John Boyd of the Tuscaloosa Genealogical Society
