Northport Councilman Collecting Donations For Senior In Need
One Northport city councilman is collecting donations for a senior in his district who is faced with unaffordable utility bills.

NORTHPORT, AL — The holiday season has come and gone, but the spirit of giving is still alive and well for one Northport councilman and business owner.

District 2 Councilman Woodrow Washington III, who also owns Archibald's BBQ, is actively collecting donations for a senior in his district who is facing unaffordable utility bills and the potential for having his utilities cut off.

"He is an older gentleman who had a busted water line and his bills went way up, then he had high power bills, too," Washington told Patch on Thursday.

Washington then said donations can be made at the Robert Hasson Community Center or through CashApp at $hassoncenter.

Those donating through the online platform are asked to include "Senior Utilities" in the memo.
