NORTHPORT, AL. — The city of Northport on Monday announced the roll-out of a new online business directory, ChooseNorthport.com, which is geared toward helping the city's businesses engage residents and potential customers amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Northport City Development Coordinator Max Snyder told Patch the new website will offer another free tool to local businesses to help get the word out about any operational changes or promotions, which comes amid a fluid and ever-changing business climate impacted by the ongoing pandemic.

"The city’s main goal during this pandemic is protecting the health and safety of our citizens, but we also understand the detrimental effect it's had on small businesses," he said. "We wanted to provide something during the holiday season to help businesses get out there and attract new business and make people comfortable. This will allow them to advertise promotions or any type of deals they have during the holiday season and this tool will be here for years to come."
