TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Northport man has died from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash in Tuscaloosa County last week.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says Roy H. Giles, 81, died after a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:32 a.m. Saturday, June 27, on U.S. Highway 43 near Saraland Road, about one mile north of the Northport city limits.

ALEA said Giles was operating a 2009 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle when it struck the rear of a 1998 Ford F-250 pickup driven by a man from Boligee.

Giles was critically injured in the crash and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the crash.
