Northport To Set Up Recycling Trailers At Two Locations On July 25

The two large recycling trailers will be set up beginning on Monday to provide a location for residents to drop recycling.

NORTHPORT, AL — The City of Northport and its public works department is set to provide two recycling drop-off locations beginning Monday, July 25 as the city continues to promote its commitment to recycling.

The two recycling trailers will be set up at the Northport Community Center — located at 2001 Park Street —and at the east end of Northcreek Boulevard.

The recycling trailers will be at the locations by 8 a.m.

Acceptable items:

  • Office paper
  • White/color paper
  • Lined paper
  • Photo paper
  • Junk mail
  • Plastic windows & staples
  • Paperback books & hardback books (must remove hard covers)
  • Shredded paper (Must be bundled or placed in plastic or paper bags)
  • Water bottles
  • Soda bottles
  • Milk jugs
  • Detergent bottles
  • Shampoo bottles
  • Newspapers ands magazines (must be separated from office paper)
  • Cardboard
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Cereal type boxes
  • Brown paper bags

Items NOT ACCEPTED

  • Glass
  • Aluminum foil items
  • Metallic-lined bags, such as chip bags.
  • Wax-lined containers
  • Electronics
  • Diapers
  • Styrofoam
  • Construction materials
  • Hard plastics.
  • Film.
  • Grocery bags, bread bags, dry cleaning bags, etc.
