Northridge Middle School Principal Carter Hill Retires

Northridge Middle Principal Carter Hill has submitted his retirement to the city school board, which was approved on Tuesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa City Schools has confirmed to Patch that Northridge Middle School Principal Carter Hill submitted his retirement to the city school board, which was approved on Tuesday.

Hill was first named principal for the school last summer, after serving in multiple roles for TCS, including English instructor, soccer coach, assistant principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

TCS says it will begin the process to fill the position, with operations continuing as normal at Northridge Middle School.

Longtime Verner Elementary Principal Beth Curtis, who retired in 2020, will serve as interim principal until a replacement is hired. She has also served as a principal for two other schools in the city school system.

"Ms. Curtis met with the Northridge Middle faculty and staff on Tuesday afternoon and we are excited to have her on board to continue the excellent work of our NMS teachers and staff," TCS told parents Tuesday, "along with assistant principals Sonia Drank-Blunt and Jeff Cameron."
