Northridge Two-Sport Star To Sign With Shelton State Baseball

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Northridge High School baseball and basketball standout Bodie Vail is set to take his skills to the next level on the baseball diamond as he signs with the Shelton State Buccaneers and longtime Coach Bobby Sprowl on Wednesday.

In his senior season debut Friday against Oak Mountain, Vail came up big on the mound and at the plate in the win, throwing four innings and giving up four hits, no runs and striking out five.

While also securing the winning decision to start the 2022 season, Vail also when 2-for-4 with three RBI’s from the leadoff spot.

According to Prep Baseball Report, Vail works his fastball in the neighborhood of 82-85 mph, which is complimented by breaking ball coming in around the low-70’s.

On the hardwood for Jaguars basketball team, he led the team in scoring and rebounds his senior season and became the second player in Northridge boys basketball history to score 1,000 career points.

Vail will join high school teammate and catcher Whitt Winfield, who announced his commitment to play baseball for the Bucs in December.
