This and other updates were provided Thursday in the semester's first update of the Tuscaloosa County School System's COVID-19 dashboard. For instance, Northside's percentage of positive cases was substantially higher than the much larger Tuscaloosa County High School, which reported 29 of its 1,631 students were out after testing positive.

Systemwide, though, 2% of the county's 19,302 are currently positive for the virus — 424 total, in addition to 48 TCSS faculty and staff. This is comparable to the percentage reported this week by the much-smaller Tuscaloosa City Schools, which has been operating under a temporary mask order through the beginning of the semester.
