Northside Schools To Dismiss Early Monday For Teacher's Funeral

The three schools in the Northside school zone will dismiss at noon to allow students and faculty to attend Jennifer Bible's funeral.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Northside High School, Northside Middle and Walker Elementary will dismiss at noon on Monday to allowed students and faculty to attend the funeral of longtime NHS science teacher Jennifer Bible.

The Tuscaloosa County School System informed the community that lunch will be served to students and bus transportation will still be provided, with the early dismissal only impacting the three schools in the Northside school zone.

As Patch previously reported, Bible — who had taught at the school since 2000 — died unexpectedly Wednesday night due to complications from a blood clot.

An immediate outpouring of grief has been widely visible on social media, as students current and former, along with friends, family and coworkers, expressed their love for Bible and the impact she had on their lives.

TCSS has also said it will continue to offer counseling professionals to the school for as long as necessary in the wake of Bible's death.

A visitation service will be held in the Northside High School gymnasium on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Bible's funeral service will then be held at Northport Baptist on Monday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.
