Oakman Man Dies From Injuries After Tuscaloosa County Crash

A 77-year-old man has died from injured sustained in a Tuesday afternoon wreck on Highway 69 in Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A 77-year-old man from Oakman is dead following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Alabama Highway 69 in northern Tuscaloosa County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says Dewey S. Hood was critically injured when the 2010 Toyota Tacoma he was driving left the roadway, before striking a ditch and then a tree.

ALEA said the crash occurred roughly 14 miles north of the City of Northport.

Hood was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he died from his injuries on Wednesday.

The cause of the fatal wreck remains under investigation.
