One Dead After Shooting On 33rd Avenue In Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Police and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) are on the scene of a fatal Thursday night shooting that left a man dead in Tuscaloosa's West End.

Captain Marty Sellers, the assistant commander of the VCU, told local media that authorities responded Thursday night to a shooting call in the 800 block of 33rd Avenue, just off Stillman Boulevard.

Once on scene, police found that one adult male had been shot to death.

The victim has not been identified at this time and the circumstances of the fatal shooting are unclear.

Sellers did confirm to Patch that the victim was an adult but declined to provide further details at this early phase of the investigation.

No other details have been released at this point in the investigation.
