NORTHPORT, AL — Northport Fire Rescue says one person was treated for minor injuries following a Tuesday-afternoon house fire in the 7000 block of Findley's Street.

The call of fire came in at approximately 3 p.m., with the first emergency crews on scene noting heavy smoke coming from the home.

NFR said the residence suffered heavy damage, but the fire was brought under control in a matter of minutes, with no personnel injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but preliminary assessment believe it to have been accidental.
