One Injured In Shooting At Northport Apartment Complex

The Northport Police Department says one person was injured in a Tuesday morning shooting at Georgetown Apartments on 43rd Avenue.

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Police Department says one person was injured in a Tuesday morning shooting at Georgetown Apartments on 43rd Avenue.

NPD Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter told Patch the initial call came in at 11 a.m. and the lone person injured has been transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media that a suspect was in custody and the victim's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The shooting investigation is now being handled by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit.
