Violent Crimes Unit Captain Marty Sellers told local media Tuesday morning that officers responded to a shooting call around 7:20 p.m. on March 15 in the 500 block of 30th Avenue Northeast.

Sellers said upon arrival in the area of Colonial Hills, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening, and he is currently in stable condition.

Sellers said investigators determined the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation between two females, during which bystanders began firing shots.
He then said it remains unclear who fired the weapon or weapons involved, as authorities have received conflicting accounts from witnesses.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and are continuing to work the case.
