One Killed, Two Injured In Accident At Warrior Met Coal's No. 4 Mine
One person is dead and two injured following an accident in an underground mine in Brookwood.

BROOKWOOD, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office says a workplace accident resulted in the death of one employee at Warrior Met Coal's Mine No. 4, in addition to leaving two others injured.

TCSO Public Information Officer Jessica McDaniel said at approximately 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, the TCSO medical unit and Northstar Paramedic Services responded to the No. 4 mine on a medical call.

Once on scene, medical deputies and EMS assisted in the treatment and transport of three employees involved in the workplace accident.
One individual did not survive their injuries. They have not been publicly identified at this time.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit responded to conduct an investigation into the death but McDaniel said no foul play is suspected at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit , Warrior Met Coal Inc. and the Mine Safety and Health Administration working together in the aftermath.
