Funding for the playground project was provided through Acker’s District 1 community development funds.

“Since my first term as county commissioner began in 2012, I have worked with PARA to establish this park for the growing Northside–Samantha community,” Acker said. “With the addition of these amazing playground amenities, I believe we have captured a vital piece that had been missing to create such a vibrant park for this area.”

Acker added that he hopes the playground will serve as a place of “laughter and joy” for local children for years to come, while thanking PARA leadership and county engineering teams for their role in bringing the project to completion.

PARA CEO Brian Davis said the new playground underscores the agency’s commitment to expanding access to quality recreational opportunities.

“This new playground represents our continued commitment to creating high-quality recreational spaces for all members of our community,” Davis said. “Northside Park has become a cornerstone for families in this fast-growing area of the county.”
