PARA Names Grand Marshals For 2021 West Alabama Christmas Parade
Here's a look at the three Grand Marshals for the annual parade, which is set for Dec. 6.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority on Monday announced the three Grand Marshals for the 45th Annual West Alabama Christmas Parade on Dec. 6.

The Grand Marshals will be Nancie Blewitt, Jheovanny Gomez, and Pam Parker.

"While each is set apart by their own unique path, all three are a testament to the strength of service to the community, and their impact across Tuscaloosa County is undeniable," PARA said in the announcement.
Blewitt is a beloved and well-known swim coach who has resided in Tuscaloosa for the last 47 years, while Gomez is the civic-minded and publicly-engaged co-owner and manager of three Jalapeños locations in Tuscaloosa and Northport.

Parker is the former Vice President of Advancement at the University of Alabama and the founder of Philanthropic Partners, LLC.
The Christmas Parade will also mark a return after a hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual tree lighting will take place on Dec. 6 at 5:15 p.m. before the parade, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.
