Patient With Gun Prompts Police Response At DCH
An 81-year-old man with a gun prompted a large police presence at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa early Tuesday morning.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — An 81-year-old man with a gun prompted a noticeable police presence at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa early Tuesday morning.

Tuscaloosa Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told Patch that officers were called to the hospital right at 5 a.m. on a call of a man with a gun, going on to say the man had displayed a handgun in front of two security guards.

TPD officers responded to the call and took the gun to evidence at TPD headquarters.
Taylor then said hospital staff and the security guards declined to prosecute the man at this time, so he is not facing any criminal charges and is now at DCH receiving treatment.
