Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck In Northport

Police have confirmed that a man has died after being struck by a vehicle on McFarland Boulevard in Northport Sunday evening.

NORTHPORT, AL — A pedestrian has died from his injuries after being struck by a car on McFarland Boulevard in Northport Sunday evening.

Northport Police Department Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter confirmed that a man, whose identity has not been made public as this time as investigators work to contact next of kin, was critically injured and later died Sunday after being struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of Wendy's on McFarland Boulevard.

The initial call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle came in at approximately 6:15 p.m., which prompted a large response from police, Northport Fire and Northstar Ambulance Service.

NPD's Accident Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the incident.

Carpenter then said more information would be released as the case moves forward.
