Pedestrian Struck And Killed Friday On Interstate 59 Near McCalla
A West Blocton man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle while walking along the shoulder of Interstate 59 near McCalla on Friday.
TUSCALOOSA, AL — State Troopers say a West Blocton man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while he walking along the side of Interstate 59 on Friday.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the single-vehicle incident occurred around 11:32 a.m., with 40-year-old Lannie D. Hyde identified as the pedestrian killed.

ALEA says a 2006 Ford Focus driven by a Hueytown native hit Hyde as he was walking along the shoulder of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, roughly one mile south of McCalla.
The deadly incident remains under investigation.
