Pedestrian From Wilcox County Killed In Apparent Hit-And-Run

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Wilcox County.

ALEA said the crash occurred about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, on Alabama Highway 5 near mile marker 6, approximately two miles south of the Pine Hill city limits.

The victim was identified as DeQuarius L. Pritchett, 32, of the Arlington community in Wilcox County. Troopers said Pritchett was in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle.

Pritchett was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA also said the vehicle involved in the crash and its driver remain unknown.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and anyone with information related to the crash is asked to contact ALEA at (334) 675-0204.
