Pell City Native To Head Up Marketing For West Alabama Works
Amber Skinner will be tasked with leading marketing efforts for West Alabama Works and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama on Tuesday announced Amber Skinner has been hired as its new communications and marketing coordinator for workforce development, which will see her spearhead West Alabama Works’ marketing efforts.

As part of her new role, Skinner will be responsible for West Alabama Works' media relations, marketing and social media efforts, and promotion of all outreach events.

The Chamber's Chief Operation Officer and West Alabama Works Donny Jones said the role requires someone who can synthesize a large amount of information, then share it in a cohesive and engaging way.
“During the interview process, we were struck by Amber’s heart and intellect – she really cares about our mission and desires to make a difference in our region," he said. "Amber’s education, experience and background make her uniquely suited to spread awareness about workforce development and our changing regional landscape.”

Skinner received her master’s degree in marketing from the University of Alabama and has worked around the southeast in several industries including government, healthcare, hospitality, and real estate.
She will replace Tara Bullock, who relocated to Birmingham in late 2020.
